Benmar Construction proudly partnered with Mi Apá Latin Café to bring a brand-new dining destination to the Alachua community through a ground-up commercial construction project. Built from the ground up, this new restaurant reflects Benmar’s commitment to quality craftsmanship, collaborative planning, and thoughtful design that captures the vibrant spirit of the Mi Apá brand.

The project included full site development and construction of a new CMU block building specifically designed for restaurant operations. From early planning through final completion, Benmar worked closely with Mi Apá’s ownership and design team to ensure the building supported both the brand’s vision and the practical needs of a high-performing restaurant. Site work included land clearing, grading, stormwater management, utility installation, parking, ADA-accessible pathways, landscaping, and lighting to create a strong and welcoming first impression.

Structurally, the building was constructed with durable CMU block walls, integrated structural steel for the roof system, and code-compliant fire-rated assemblies. The exterior was finished with materials and architectural details that balanced long-term durability with cultural character. Inside, the space was built out to support efficient restaurant operations, including a fully equipped commercial kitchen, modern mechanical and utility systems, and a dining layout designed to promote customer comfort and smooth traffic flow.

A standout element of the project was the integration of Mi Apá’s brand identity throughout the building and interior finishes. Bold colors, custom millwork, tile, and culturally inspired design details helped create a space that feels both authentic and inviting. The finished restaurant now serves as a functional and visually distinctive destination for the community, giving Mi Apá a space designed not only for exceptional food service, but also for a memorable guest experience.
