GARY BENNETT, RESIDENTIAL CONTRACTOR
CEO, LICENSE #CRC1329950
Gary Bennett has had his Contractor’s License since 2007. The patriarch of the Bennett family is known for his pragmatic approach to business and unparalleled love for his wife and 3 children.
A longtime resident of Marion County, Gary graduated from Lake Weir High School. His father and uncles were all in the construction business, and Gary’s plain-spoken demeanor is the culmination of decades of experience in many construction capacities. Gary enjoys remodel projects and working with disabled veterans to ensure their comfort and safety in their homes. Customers both residential and commercial find him to be detail-oriented and honest. When he’s not working at Benmar, he can be found traveling with his Christian singing group building faith.
David Griffin is excited to kick off 2018 as the newest team member as Project Superintendent. He brings to Benmar over three decades of experience in the field of custom drywall and construction and is in the process of pursuing his contractor’s license. He is dedicated to the highest quality of work and is passionate about the complete satisfaction of his customers on every project.
Originally from New York, he moved to Marion County with his family as a young boy and has spent the last four decades as a Florida resident. David graduated from Lake Weir High School and married his high school sweetheart, Tracy. They cherish spending time at home together with their blue heeler, Satellite. One of David’s lifelong interests is collecting: comic books, graphic novels, and memorabilia. David and Tracy enjoy spending time with friends and family and giving back to their local community.
THE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION STAFF
The commercial construction team focuses on the business owner’s vision and objectives with each construction project. We listen to our customer’s ideas and ensure that the goals are fulfilled throughout the project from start to finish.
Jeremiah BENNETT, Commercial CONTRACTOR
Coo, License # cbc1257791, #cgc1523581
Jeremiah Bennett is a Certified Building Contractor. A Marion County native, at a young age he learned to properly swing a hammer alongside his father, Gary. Jeremiah was brought up around the construction business with family working as framers, builders and heavy equipment operators. He graduated from Belleview High school in 2002 and pursued a career in aviation before joining his father in the construction industry in 2007.
The quintessential family man, you can find him on a Saturday night huddled around a campfire with his wife Nicole and their four children, or surrounded by friends. This is where Jeremiah is most comfortable, in the company of family and friends, both at work and home. He is dedicated in his work ethic and to those who need a hand up. Jeremiah’s belief in God is woven into every aspect of his life and is the cornerstone of how he conducts business. A belief that was instilled in him by his father Gary, along with microwaving ice cream for ten seconds before eating it.
ZACH FARRAR, COMMERCIAL SUPERINTENDENT
Zach was born and raised in Ocala, FL and was brought up with respect and taught to work hard at a young age. After graduating from Vanguard High School, he followed in the footsteps of his uncle and went into the electrical trade. While in the profession Zach learned a wide variety of construction knowledge from electrical and framing to truss design and repair. He now has over 15 years of construction training. Zach is currently in the process of going for his Master Electrical License and plans to obtain his Contractor License afterward. Zach is a hands-on kind of guy and is always willing to jump in and get the job done.
Zach spends his free time with his wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters. You can find him outside playing with the girls or cuddling up next to them watching a movie. He'd much rather be outdoors than inside any day of the week.
THE OFFICE STAFF
The office team works closely behind-the-scenes with the residential and commercial construction teams, as well as the customers, to ensure that the project goes smoothly. The team is here to answer the customer’s questions or direct them to the right place to find the answers they need. Happy to be available to address the customer’s concerns and needs, the office staff will be a part of each project from the beginning until the very end.
Kristy Martter, PERMIT MANAGER
Kristy is the Benmar Permit Manager and a Marion County native. She has over a decade in administrative experience and is grateful for the opportunity to work with family.
When she isn’t fielding calls and keeping everyone organized and on point, she is in mom mode wrangling children and loving every minute of it. Kristy is married to the love of her life, Billy– and they are the proud parents of three children, whom she considers to be her most significant achievement thus far. Admittedly the best job she ever had, Kristy is thankful for what she describes as God’s perfect timing and looks forward to raising the next generation in construction.
Kathy COURTNEY, OFFICE MANAGER
Kathy joined the Benmar team in the fall of 2014 as a part-time administrative assistant. Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Kathy and her family moved to Ocala in 2006. Her husband Darryl’s job as a civil designer for a local engineering firm in Ocala is what prompted their move.
Kathy has over 20 years in the customer service industry. After a career in the staffing industry as the Director of Operations and Training for the corporate office, plus two branch offices, she decided to become a stay-at-home mom for her two boys. Cody and Jacob are grown now but the time with them is what she treasures the most. God and family are what Kathy values most.
Kathy will tell you that her job at Benmar is definitely her dream job come true because they share those same values, God, and family first.
“I love what I do. I love coming to work every day and I love being a part of Benmar’s growth!”
